My client, located about 40 mins from Charlotte, NC, is in need of a Regional CT Supervisor to join their team. This is a very busy Level III Trauma hospital.. Candidates MUST have experience in busy hospital CT departments. Candidates also MUST have experience with Adult patients as well as pediatric experience or knowledge of "Image Gently" philosophy and guidelines. The Regional CT Supervisor will oversee the hospital as well as the Imaging Center and a Free Standing Imaging Center. There are 25 FTEs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working in staffing, teammate schedules, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, ACR, financial variances and working with Physicists to schedule testing. Their projected volume is 46,484 patients this year.
Candidates need to have strong experience in the following equipment: GE 750, Siemens Force, Siemens AS 40, GE 16 slice, GE 64 slice. Candidates MUST have at least 5 years of CT experience, at least 2 years of Supervisory experience and Must have their CT Registry. It is preferred that candidates also have some financial experience as you will be working in productivity and financial reports.
You will be doing lots CT coronary studies, pediatrics, adults, cardiac, code strokes, a multitude of different forms of ablation procedures, etc.
These positions are day shift, typically 8-4:30 and some weekends. This position will spend about 50% doing supervisory work and 50% clinical support. Candidates MUST have some Lead/Supervisor/Management experience and must be clinically skilled and proficient as well. A large part of the job will be spent on-boarding new employees and be the "go-to" technologist for clinical questions, HR and departmental policy clarification and keeping department compliant with governing body regulations.
Essential Functions (to include CT team compliance with the following)
- Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers any questionable orders to the radiologist before performing procedure. Contacts ordering physician when there are discrepancies and requests a corrected written order.
- Correlates prior exams, applicable test results, and lab data pertinent to exam being performed.
- Obtains medications, pharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Verifies the correct patient by checking the patient's armband and validating proof of identity.
- Records medical history on requisitions/questionnaire as needed for radiologists.
- Prepares each patient for the procedure with a full explanation, providing necessary instructions and answering patient questions.
- Assists radiologist in performance of procedures of invasive and non-invasive nature.
- Performs basic patient care functions and informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition.
- Differentiates artifacts from anatomical or pathological structures and recognizes imaging abnormalities. Performs additional imaging as needed. Perform random teammate audits for image quality and provides coaching for improvements as necessary.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment to leadership, service engineers or vendors as necessary.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited 2 year AMA and ARRT-approved program in Radiologic Technology required. ARRT certification in CT required. 5 years of experience in CT scanning experience required. BLS HCP certification from AHA required. Completion of IV starting and contrast administration competencies are required before performing venous contrast administration.
